In a spectacular display of strength and determination, Liao Guifang from the Chinese mainland triumphed in the women's 81kg category at the IWF World Weightlifting Championships held in Manama, Bahrain. Liao clinched all three gold medals, showcasing her exceptional prowess in both the snatch and the clean and jerk.
During the snatch segment, Liao lifted 120kg on her second attempt, securing her first gold. She didn't stop there, successfully lifting 123kg on her third attempt. Competing closely were Mongolia's Ankhtsetseg Munkhjantsan and the DPRK's Kim Kyong Ryong, who took second and third places, respectively.
In the clean and jerk portion, Kim Kyong Ryong lifted 147kg to claim all three bronze medals. Egypt's Sara Samir, a Paris Olympic silver medalist, impressively lifted 149kg, earning her two silver medals. However, Liao was unstoppable; after securing gold with a 150kg lift on her second attempt, she elevated the bar yet again by lifting 155kg, ultimately winning all three golds despite being the lightest competitor in her division.
