Gaza Seeks Peace Amid Continued Struggles Post-Ceasefire

As the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire takes effect on Wednesday, residents in Gaza are holding onto hope for lasting peace. The annual International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People has amplified voices worldwide in support of Gaza's residents.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the unconditional release of hostages during a special UN meeting. \"This year's commemoration is especially painful as those fundamental goals are as distant as they have ever been,\" he stated.

Despite the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, airstrikes in Gaza have not ceased, exacerbating the dire situation. The Gaza Health Ministry reported at least 37 fatalities on Thursday alone, bringing the total death toll to over 44,330 since last October.

Residents describe their daily reality as a "real life horror movie." Umm Ahmad Lubbad, a 52-year-old from Beit Lahia, shared, \"The situation is indescribable, the Israeli bombing doesn't stop from the air or on the ground. It is getting worse every day.\"

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) highlighted the deteriorating conditions for the 65,000-75,000 people remaining in northern Gaza, where survival is becoming increasingly precarious.

Interviews conducted by CMG reveal the deep fatigue among Gazans from the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. Many express a desperate hope for a ceasefire similar to the one achieved in Lebanon, yearning for peace and stability in their lives.
