Cook Islands PM Eyes Partnership with China’s Aquaculture Sector

The Prime Minister of the Cook Islands, Mark Brown, has expressed enthusiasm for expanding cooperation with the Chinese mainland in the aquaculture industry. Highlighting China’s impressive research and development efforts, Brown believes that such collaboration will significantly benefit the Cook Islands' future growth.

During his visit to China from February 10 to 16, Prime Minister Brown explored the coastal cities of Qingdao and Shanghai. These cities are renowned for their advancements in aquaculture, and Brown aimed to gain insights into the latest technologies and sustainable practices shaping the industry.

By fostering stronger ties with China’s aquaculture sector, the Cook Islands hopes to enhance its own capabilities, boost economic development, and promote sustainable seafood production. This partnership is seen as a strategic move to ensure the long-term prosperity and environmental stewardship of the Cook Islands.
