Kazakhstan Plane Crash: Azerbaijan Airlines Flight Collides with Birds, 39 Dead

Tragedy struck on December 25 as an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger jet en route from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia, crashed near Aktau in western Kazakhstan. The latest update from Kazakhstan's Ministry for Emergency Situations reports that out of 67 people on board, at least 28 have survived the harrowing incident.

The ill-fated flight comprised 62 passengers and 5 crew members. Russian news agencies cite heavy fog in Grozny as the reason for the plane's rerouting, which unfortunately led to a collision with a flock of birds, causing the devastating crash.

Rescue teams are tirelessly working to locate and assist any remaining survivors while investigating the full circumstances surrounding the accident. This incident highlights the critical importance of addressing wildlife hazards in aviation safety protocols.
