China Calls Out Philippines for Unauthorized Vessel Gatherings in Nansha Islands

The China Coast Guard (CCG) has strongly urged the Philippines to stop its illegal vessel gatherings near Houteng Jiao in the disputed Nansha Islands. According to a CCG spokesperson on Monday, necessary measures were taken against the Philippine ships for their unauthorized presence in the area.

Footage released by Yuyuantantian, an affiliate of China Media Group, on Wednesday showed fishing boats and reporters staging photos, indicating that they were not engaged in genuine fishing activities. Experts have noted that the boats involved are unsuitable for deep-sea fishing, raising suspicions about their true intentions.

Additionally, a Philippine coast guard vessel was present at the scene with reporters, seemingly orchestrating photo opportunities for publicity purposes. The incident highlights ongoing maritime tensions and the complexities of maintaining security in the Nansha Islands.
