Nanning’s Scarecrow Art Festival Attracts Global Visitors

Nanning, the vibrant capital of Guangxi in the Chinese mainland, is hosting an enchanting display of scarecrow art that promises to captivate visitors from around the world. Contrary to the traditional role of scarecrows meant to deter birds, these artistic creations are designed to draw people in with their unique and charming appearances.

The city proudly showcases around 30 groups of large-scale scarecrow exhibits, each crafted predominantly from straw. These intricate displays reflect a variety of themes, including the Chinese dragon, celebrated as the 2024 Chinese zodiac animal, as well as beloved characters from cartoons and fairy tales. This creative initiative not only celebrates local culture and artistry but also serves as a significant attraction for tourists and locals alike, fostering a sense of community and cultural pride in Nanning.
