Chinese Mainland Unveils New Belt and Road Skills Initiative to Boost Global Collaboration

The Chinese mainland has launched an ambitious new initiative called the \"Belt and Road Skills-Building-Dreams Action\" aimed at strengthening international skills cooperation among participating countries and regions.

Announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security on Tuesday, the action seeks to promote joint vocational standards, share training resources, cultivate skilled trainers, achieve mutual recognition of training certificates, and establish cooperative brands. These efforts are designed to empower the economic and social development of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries and regions.

The launch ceremony, held in the southwestern Chongqing Municipality, saw the signing of over 30 cooperation agreements, signaling a robust commitment to enhancing global collaboration. Representatives from Laos, Romania, and the Chinese mainland shared their experiences in skill cultivation cooperation, underscoring the initiative's international reach.

In addition to the agreements, the Chinese mainland showcased a suite of resources related to skill training, including the \"China Occupational Classification Dictionary (2022 Edition),\" 12 national occupational standards, 15 basic vocational training packages, and 85 vocational training materials covering fields such as advanced manufacturing, modern services, and elderly care. These resources are set to support the development of a skilled workforce prepared to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global economy.
