The Shenzhou-18 crew is set to embark on their first extravehicular activity (EVA), marking a significant milestone for China's space endeavors. Announced by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) on Monday, this spacewalk showcases the crew's readiness and the advancements of the China Space Station.
Comprising taikonauts Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu, the Shenzhou-18 team has undergone extensive preparation for the EVA. A recent video released by CMSA highlights the crew meticulously checking their spacesuits, inspecting tools and equipment, training with robotic arms, and gearing up inside the cabin to ensure a successful mission.
While CMSA has not disclosed which two of the three taikonauts will perform the spacewalk, the crew's dedication over the past 32 days in orbit has been evident. Since their arrival at the China Space Station on April 26, the Shenzhou-18 crew has conducted a series of scientific experiments, contributing valuable data to ongoing space research.
This upcoming EVA not only demonstrates China's growing capabilities in space exploration but also paves the way for future missions and international collaborations in the realm of space science and technology.
