Hong Kong SAR Sends 23 Athletes to 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) is set to make a significant impact at the upcoming 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics, with a delegation of 23 talented athletes competing across eight sports.

Leung Lai Yin, the head of Hong Kong SAR's delegation, expressed optimism about the team's performance. \"Some of our athletes will be participating in the Paralympics for the first time. I expect them to showcase their best efforts and achieve remarkable results in Paris,\" Leung stated.

Among the competitors is Ng Cheuk-yan, a remarkable 14-year-old swimmer who is poised to become the youngest-ever para-athlete in Hong Kong SAR's team history. Ng's impressive performance at the Para Swimming World Series in Singapore in May, where she secured three gold and two bronze medals, highlights her potential to excel on the world stage.

\"I felt so excited when I won titles at the major international tournament,\" said Ng. \"Balancing school and preparation for the Paralympics is crucial for me. I want to be in my best form at the Para Games.\"

The athletes will compete in a variety of disciplines, including archery, badminton, swimming, and athletics, representing Hong Kong SAR with determination and pride.
