Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao made history by securing China's first gold medal at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics in the 10-meter air rifle mixed team shooting final on Saturday. Back in her hometown of Taizhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, Huang's youth coach, high school classmates, and teachers erupted in celebration over her remarkable achievement.
Huang embarked on her shooting career early, joining a local team in January 2017. In less than four years, her dedication and skill earned her a spot on the Zhejiang Provincial Shooting Team, capturing the attention of the national selectors.
\"Stability is Huang's best quality. She has always been a calm child, suitable for shooting, stable in life, and strong in mentality,\" shared Lin Kehan, Huang's youth coach. \"In every competition, her performance often surprises you, and in major competitions especially, she can steadily display her techniques.\"
Lu Lingjun, one of Huang's high school teachers, expressed immense pride in witnessing her student’s Olympic triumph. \"This will not only inspire Huang but also the entire school because our school raised an Olympic champion,\" Lu remarked. \"Her spirit, her will, her perseverance, her hard training, and her work of achieving such glory for China will make her a role model for our students.\"
