De Minaur Forced Out of Wimbledon Quarters As Djokovic Heads to Semis

Australian tennis star Alex De Minaur has withdrawn from his Wimbledon quarterfinal match against second seed Novak Djokovic due to a hip injury. The withdrawal allows Djokovic to advance to the semifinals, marking his record-equaling 13th semifinal appearance at the prestigious grasscourt Grand Slam.

The nine-seeded De Minaur sustained the injury during his fourth-round victory over Frenchman Arthur Fils, with the final stages of their match seeing De Minaur struggle to maintain his performance. \"I'm devastated to pull out due to a hip injury, a little tear of the fiber cartilage that is at the end of, or connects to the adductor,\" De Minaur said.

The 25-year-old reached the top 10 of the ATP Tour and is currently enjoying his best season, having advanced to two Grand Slam quarterfinals this year. De Minaur is now focused on recovering in time for the Paris Summer Olympics, where the tennis event begins on July 27.

Meanwhile, Djokovic is not only tying Roger Federer's record of 13 Wimbledon semifinal appearances but is also vying to match Federer's eight titles at the All England Club. The Serbian tennis star will next face Italy's Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinals.
