Mbappe Trains Through Injury Ahead of France’s Euro Clash with Netherlands

Kylian Mbappe, the star forward and captain of the French national team, is training with a broken nose just days before France's crucial Euro 2024 clash against the Netherlands in Leipzig.

The 25-year-old sustained the injury during France's opening victory against Austria on Monday when his nose collided with Austrian defender Kevin Danso's shoulder, leading to a dramatic exit with a bloodied shirt.

Despite the setback, Mbappe didn’t miss the entirety of Wednesday's group training. Initially attending with his nose plastered, he worked closely with a fitness coach, engaging in short passes before joining his teammates for a shooting drill.

However, the team's coaching staff has labeled his participation as \"doubtful\" for the upcoming match. Following medical evaluations at a Düsseldorf hospital, the French Football Federation confirmed that Mbappe will not require surgery. Instead, he will don a protective mask, allowing him to return to action after a brief period of treatment.

If Mbappe remains sidelined, Olivier Giroud, France's all-time leading scorer, is poised to take his place in the Friday showdown against the Netherlands. Both teams currently lead Group D, with the Netherlands having secured a 2-1 victory over Poland in their opening match.
