Among the standout performers was Liu Yukun, who shattered the world record in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions event not once, but twice over two days.
On Thursday, Liu set a new world record with a score of 467.3 points, surpassing his previous best by 1.2 points. Demonstrating remarkable consistency, he continued his streak on Saturday by further elevating the record to 468.9 points, averaging an impressive 10.4 points per shot.
During Saturday's competition, Liu was in a league of his own. He scored 156.6 points in the kneeling position after the first 15 shots, outpacing Croatia's Miran Maricic by 2.3 points. Accumulating 315.1 points after the prone position, Liu extended his lead by 4.2 points. Despite a slight dip with a 9.5 in the penultimate standing shot, Liu secured the gold medal comfortably, finalizing his own world record.
Liu Yukun's extraordinary performances not only contributed significantly to China's dominance at the event but also highlighted his exceptional skill and dedication in the sport of shooting.
