In a significant move towards fostering international collaboration, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda have announced enhanced cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). During their meeting at the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of Government session, Premier Li highlighted China’s commitment to aligning development strategies with Tajikistan. Key focus areas include expanding bilateral ties in trade, investment, mining, and agriculture, as well as emerging industries such as new energy and the digital economy. This comprehensive approach is designed to promote sustainable growth and economic resilience in both nations.
Prime Minister Rasulzoda echoed these sentiments, praising China’s achievements over the past 75 years and expressing gratitude for its support in Tajikistan’s development. He reiterated Tajikistan’s dedication to deepening collaboration in sectors like e-commerce, energy, industry, transportation, and the green economy. Additionally, both leaders underscored the importance of cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges to strengthen people-to-people connections.
The partnership also aligns with China’s broader initiatives, including the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative. By advocating for a fair and multipolar world, both countries aim to uphold international fairness and justice through true multilateralism.
