In a significant move towards enhancing bilateral relations, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. The meeting focused on advancing the negotiations for the China-GCC free trade agreement, with both leaders expressing eagerness to expedite its completion.

Premier Li emphasized China's commitment to expanding bilateral trade with the UAE, highlighting opportunities in emerging sectors such as new energy, electric vehicles, high-end manufacturing, biomedicine, and the digital economy. He outlined plans to collaboratively develop a forward-looking layout for emerging and future industries, aiming to cultivate new economic growth points.

President Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE's dedication to the one-China principle, affirming the nation's role as a reliable and strategic partner in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. This partnership underscores the UAE's strategic importance in China's broader economic and infrastructural initiatives across the Gulf region.
