China Strengthens Strategic Partnership with Iran for Regional Peace

In a significant move towards bolstering international relations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced that China will continue to enhance strategic cooperation with Iran, aiming to safeguard common interests and contribute to regional and global peace.

Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made these remarks during a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari. The discussion took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Expressing his condolences for the recent deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Wang emphasized China's solidarity with Iran. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Iran will continue to advance its established strategies, maintaining stability and fostering development.

Wang Yi reiterated China's commitment to collaborating with Iran to uphold mutual interests and support peace initiatives both regionally and globally.

Echoing China's steadfast support, Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari affirmed that Iran's domestic and foreign policies remain consistent. He highlighted Iran's dedication to strengthening bilateral cooperation with China across various sectors, including politics, economy, and culture.

Safari also appreciated China's role in facilitating reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran, pledging to continue efforts to enhance relations with regional countries.
