French and Chinese Youth Unite for Modernization Dialogue in Paris

On May 5, Paris became the hub for international youth collaboration as nearly 100 prominent figures from Chinese and French political, cultural, artistic, media, and academic circles gathered for a dialogue on Chinese modernization. The event, organized by China Media Group (CMG), the Sciences Po Alumni, the Paris Intercollegiate Committee of the United Nations (CINUP), and Jinan University, aimed to bridge cultural and intellectual exchanges between the two nations.

Key speakers included Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, Jack Lang, former French culture minister, Sylvie Bermann, former French ambassador to China, Hervé Machenaud from the Sciences Po Alumni, and Charles Jeanne, president of CINUP. Shen Haixiong highlighted the involvement of young French cultural envoys in research activities related to Chinese modernization, emphasizing the hands-on experience they gained in China.

Jack Lang spoke about the harmonious integration of China's traditional cultural preservation with its modern scientific and technological advancements. He expressed hope that increased dialogue among youth would deepen France-China friendship and promote mutual learning across different civilizations.

Sylvie Bermann underscored the critical role of youth exchanges in fostering lasting France-China relations and building trust between the two peoples. She emphasized that such dialogues help young French citizens gain a deeper understanding of China's role in the global landscape.

The event also featured the joint release of a report on Chinese modernization, produced by CMG Europe, the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, and Jinan University, based on collaborative research by young scholars and cultural envoys from both countries.

In addition, CMG and the Sciences Po Alumni signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation in areas like expert exchange, media collaboration, joint research, and the dissemination of academic findings. A roundtable discussion further explored Chinese modernization from a youth perspective, highlighting its global benefits and the opportunities it presents worldwide.

By fostering such dialogues, CMG aims to create platforms where young individuals can appreciate China's unique charm and contribute to building a modern civilization with a shared future for mankind.
