China-France Ties: 60 Years of Win-Win Cooperation

President Xi Jinping has embarked on his third state visit to France, marking a significant milestone as China and France celebrate the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. Invited by President Emmanuel Macron, Xi expressed his delight in reinforcing the long-standing ties between the two nations.

Reflecting on past visits in 2014 and 2019, Xi highlighted the enduring friendship shared between China and France. \"Back in 2014 and 2019, I paid two visits to France, both in spring, to celebrate the 50th and 55th anniversaries of our diplomatic relations together with the people of France,\" he noted.

As the 60th anniversary unfolds, Xi emphasized the deep cultural connections that have historically linked the two countries. He mentioned how French Enlightenment thinkers studied Chinese culture centuries ago and how renowned French figures like Voltaire, Diderot, Hugo, and Balzac are well-regarded in China.

Beyond cultural appreciation, Xi underscored the robust cooperation in various sectors, including aviation, aerospace, nuclear energy, agrifood, and green development. He pointed out the collaborative efforts in climate response, biodiversity protection, and global governance, which have elevated the relationship to new heights.

The ongoing China-France Year of Culture and Tourism exemplifies the dynamic partnership, fostering mutual benefits and contributing to global stability amidst a turbulent world. Xi expressed optimism that his discussions with President Macron would further cement political trust, build strategic consensus, and deepen cooperation across multiple fields.

Looking ahead, Xi hopes that the strengthened bilateral relations between China and France will pave the way for a brighter future, promoting peace, stability, and development on the global stage.
