Rising with Pride: Kahuta’s Triumph Over Malaria Through Medical Advancements

In the heart of Rawalpindi's Kahuta District, life has been transformed over the past decade, thanks to significant medical advancements. The China-Pakistan Karot project, a cornerstone of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, has played a pivotal role in this transformation.

Sheikh Noman Munir, a local shop owner, experienced firsthand the devastating impact of malaria when he and his wife were struck by the disease. Before the establishment of the THQ Hospital, residents like Noman faced immense challenges in accessing timely medical care, often having to travel to distant cities for treatment. Tragically, many lost their lives due to delayed medical assistance.

With the construction of the THQ Hospital, malaria is no longer a looming threat in Kahuta. Noman received prompt diagnosis and treatment, allowing him to recover swiftly and rebuild his life. This medical facility has not only saved lives but also strengthened community bonds, as Noman and his wife, who run the Peco and Laces business, found renewed hope and resilience.

The BRI's investment in public health infrastructure has illuminated the path to a healthier and more prosperous future for the residents of Kahuta. As the community continues to thrive, the foundation laid by these medical advancements promises even greater developments on the horizon.
