Typhoon Yagi Claims 24 Lives in Northern Vietnam, Authorities Brace for More Flooding

Typhoon Yagi has wreaked havoc in northern Vietnam, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The Vietnamese government reported late on Sunday that the powerful storm, Asia's most formidable cyclone this year, has resulted in the tragic loss of at least 24 lives and left nearly 300 injured due to landslides and severe flooding. Making landfall on the northeastern coast on Saturday, Yagi has not only tested the region's resilience but also disrupted essential services. Power outages and disrupted telecommunications have been reported, particularly in the provinces of Quang Ninh and Haiphong. Authorities are on high alert, warning residents of the potential for further flooding as the typhoon's remnants continue to affect the area.
