Vietnamese Vlogger Shares Insights on China’s Education Culture

As China gears up for its annual Two Sessions, CGTN unveiled its global initiative, Ask China Expats, inviting individuals worldwide to pose questions about the country. This campaign aims to provide diverse perspectives from foreigners residing in China.

In a recent video, Vietnamese vlogger Nguyễn Thị Thanh Thanh, who is both studying and living in China, took part in this engaging dialogue. When asked by her friends in Vietnam about the education system in China, Thanh highlighted a prevalent Chinese saying: \"Pursuing scholarship surmounts all other occupations.\"

According to Thanh, Chinese students are renowned for their dedication, often starting their studies at a very young age. She emphasized that education is highly valued in Chinese families, with parents hoping their children can excel and gain a competitive edge early on.

Thanh's observations shed light on the intense focus on academic achievement in China, reflecting a broader cultural emphasis on education as a pathway to success. This perspective offers a window into how educational priorities shape the lives and futures of young learners in the Chinese mainland.
