Marking 65 years of diplomatic ties, China and Algeria are deepening their strategic partnership with significant infrastructure developments.
The recently opened Sidi Aich Tunnel, constructed by the China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC), is a pivotal component of the Bejaia Highway project in northern Algeria. Officially inaugurated on July 13, this 100-kilometer, six-lane highway begins at the bustling Bejaia port in the north and seamlessly connects to the East-West Highway, Algeria's vital economic artery, in the south.
The comprehensive operation covers the entire 84 kilometers of the highway, significantly improving traffic flow in key sections that link Bejaia to the rest of the country. This enhancement not only facilitates smoother transportation but also bolsters economic activities by streamlining access to major ports and industrial areas.
During the inauguration, a CGTN reporter visited the dedicated staff of CRCC, capturing their experiences and stories behind the successful completion of this monumental project. The collaboration exemplifies the strengthening bonds between China and Algeria, showcasing a commitment to mutual growth and development.
