In an electric atmosphere at Beijing’s Wukesong Arena, the Guangsha Lions delivered a statement win over the Beijing Ducks, powering to a 106-73 victory in Game 4 of the Chinese Basketball Association Finals on Wednesday.
On both ends of the floor, the Lions showcased a balanced attack: six players scored in double figures, including starters Barry Brown and Lin Ping-Sheng, who each poured in 22 points. Their aggressive defense sparked a six-minute scoring drought for the hosts, fueling a 13-0 run that turned the quarter into a decisive 25-14 advantage.
For the Ducks, shooting woes defined the night. They converted just 24 of 67 field-goal attempts, including 4 of 28 from three-point range, and turned the ball over 17 times—nearly matching their 18 assists. Chen Ying-Chun led Beijing with 13 points but struggled to find consistency.
The Lions continued to pull away in the second quarter with a 9-2 burst that stretched the lead to 50-30 at the break. Even a brief Ducks rally, sparked by Josh Carlton’s bench stint after his fourth foul, was quelled by Hu Jinqiu’s timely three-pointer.
By the third quarter, Guangsha’s transition offense had the Ducks flat-footed. Outscoring their rivals 29-17, the Lions entered the final period with an 82-52 cushion and never looked back.
Now up 3-1 in the best-of-seven series, Guangsha heads home to Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province for Game 5 on Saturday. One more win would seal the first league title in franchise history—and cement the Lions as championship contenders.
