In a stunning display of speed and innovation, China's commercial space sector has reached a new milestone. Galactic Energy, one of the Chinese mainland's leading private aerospace companies, executed a record-breaking launch mission within just five days.
The CERES-1 Y17 rocket lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Friday, deploying six satellites into a 535‐kilometer sun-synchronous orbit. The satellites—named Yunyao 43-48—are a key part of the Yunyao constellation, an ambitious project by Tianjin-based Yunyao Aerospace aimed at establishing a global network of 90 commercial meteorological satellites.
This constellation is designed to form a real-time global atmospheric and ionospheric detection system, providing advanced weather forecast information to participating countries and regions through initiatives like the Belt and Road. Such strides in commercial space technology not only demonstrate rapid progress in the aerospace industry but also offer fresh, data-driven insights for a globally connected audience.
Galactic Energy’s CERES-1 rocket, now having completed 18 launches and delivered 77 satellites, has firmly positioned the company at the forefront of the private aerospace sector. For young global citizens, tech enthusiasts, thought leaders, sports fans, and travelers alike, these developments signal an exciting leap forward in both space innovation and our understanding of Earth's dynamic environment.
