The Chinese mainland's national lawmakers have submitted a total of 269 proposals to the country's annual legislative session, marking the deadline for proposal submissions during the ongoing third session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) reached by noon on Saturday.
According to the session's secretariat, over 8,000 suggestions were received from NPC deputies, showcasing a dynamic range of ideas and initiatives aimed at shaping the country's future.
Out of the 269 proposals, 268 are focused on legislative work, while one centers on oversight functions. These proposals primarily address key, emerging, and foreign-related legislative areas.
The submitted suggestions cover a diverse array of topics, including strategies to boost consumption, the promotion of artificial intelligence (AI) applications to drive economic growth, and initiatives to protect the rights and interests of private enterprises.
The secretariat is currently reviewing these proposals and will compile a comprehensive report on their handling to present to the session's presidium for further deliberation.
