Chinese Naval Fleet Passes Through Basilan Strait in Accordance with International Law

The passage of the Chinese naval fleet through the Basilan Strait has been confirmed to comply with international law, according to Tian Junli, spokesperson for the Chinese People's Liberation Army Southern Theater Command.

On Monday, the Southern Theater Command conducted training exercises involving naval and air forces, maneuvering through the Basilan Strait. Tian emphasized that these operations were executed in a safe, standardized, and professional manner, adhering to established international maritime practices.

Addressing the situation, Tian criticized the Philippine side for what he described as exaggerated and misleading reports concerning the normal passage of the Chinese fleet. He asserted that such actions by the Philippines undermine the legitimate navigation rights of China and other nations within international waters.

This development underscores the importance of maintaining open and lawful maritime routes, fostering cooperation, and ensuring the security and stability of international waters.
