The 2025 Spring Festival Gala, organized by China Media Group (CMG) on January 28, Chinese New Year's Eve, captivated global audiences like never before.
This landmark event was the first gala following the Spring Festival's successful inclusion in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Leveraging a multilingual, multi-platform international media network, CMG shared this culturally rich Chinese celebration across the globe.
By 6 p.m. on January 29, the gala's overseas dissemination had achieved unprecedented milestones, setting new historical records in global reach.
Expanding its international network, CMG broadcasted the gala in 82 languages, 14 more than in 2024, ensuring accessibility from Southeast Asia to South America. The event's linguistic diversity was complemented by its extensive geographic spread, with over 3,100 media partners including CNN, Japan's Niconico, Russia's VK, and Italy's Alma TV synchronizing their coverage to amplify the gala's reach.
Furthermore, CNN's week-long promotional campaign attracted over 800 million viewers globally, while Japan's Niconico celebrated a decade-long partnership by offering a live Japanese-translated stream that drew 101,000 concurrent viewers.
