In a recent interview with CGTN Sports Scene, Yu shared her aspirations and expectations for the upcoming continental event.
\"I hope we can elevate our competitive spirit and showcase our skills at the Asian Winter Games,\" Yu expressed. She emphasized the team's desire to achieve a breakthrough compared to their previous participations.
Being a native of Harbin, Yu feels a deep sense of honor playing on home ice. \"Having my family in the stands is a tremendous motivation for me and the team,\" she added. Yu acknowledged the pressure that comes with representing the host nation but believes it drives the team to perform better.
Harbin holds a special place in Yu's heart, as it is where many team members, including herself, began their training journeys from a young age. \"Returning to Harbin to compete is like giving a satisfying answer to our hometown supporters and everyone who believes in us,\" she said.
The 2025 Asian Winter Games are scheduled to open on February 7 and conclude on February 14, promising an exciting showcase of winter sports talents from across the continent.
