Xi Highlights China’s Resilient Progress in Year of the Dragon

In the Year of the Dragon, China has showcased remarkable resilience and progress despite facing complex challenges, according to Xi, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission.

At a high-level reception to welcome the Chinese New Year, Xi highlighted the country's steadfast advancement in modernization over the past year. \"In the Year of the Dragon, we demonstrated vitality and a can-do spirit. We endured storms and saw the rainbow,\" he remarked.

China's response to various intricate and demanding situations has been marked by composure and determination. The implementation of comprehensive measures and proactive policy introductions have played a crucial role in overcoming difficulties and pushing forward with unwavering resolve, Xi noted during the reception held by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to usher in the Year of the Snake, beginning on January 29.

The event, attended by over 2,000 individuals, saw Xi extend Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, residents in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese.

Over the past year, China effectively implemented existing policies and proactively introduced a suite of incremental measures that have spurred economic recovery, Xi stated. The nation has made significant strides in technological and industrial innovation, fostering new quality productive forces. Additionally, employment rates and consumer prices have remained stable, underscoring China's robust economic health.
