China Clinches Gold and Silver in Aerials at Junior World Championships

China made a spectacular showing at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Freestyle Junior World Championships held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Saturday. The nation secured both gold and silver medals in the aerials mixed team event, highlighting its prowess in winter sports.

Both Team A and Team B from China advanced to the finals, setting the stage for a fierce competition. Wang Qixian of Team B opened the event with a remarkable performance, earning 84.10 points with the highest degree of difficulty among female competitors. Her impressive routine set a high standard for her teammates.

Following Wang’s lead, Gu Jiubo and Geng Hu delivered outstanding performances for Team B, scoring 96.23 and 95.88 points respectively. Their combined effort resulted in a total score of 276.21 points, securing them the gold medal and surpassing Team A, which included Feng Junxi, Yang Zhicheng, and Yang Yuheng.

Canada rounded out the podium with a bronze medal, amassing 230.72 points. Overall, China emerged as the standout performers of the tournament, amassing a total of one gold, two silvers, and two bronzes across various individual events. This achievement underscores China’s growing dominance in the freestyle junior scene and sets a promising tone for future competitions.
