Chinese leader Xi Jinping departed the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on a special plane on Friday, concluding a series of important events in the region.
Xi, who serves as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited Macao from Wednesday to Friday. His visit included celebrating the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, inaugurating the SAR's sixth-term government, and conducting an inspection tour of the region.
At the seeing-off ceremony, Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, took the time to shake hands with attendees and wave goodbye to a cheering crowd.
Senior officials, including Cai Qi, also departed Macao on the same plane.
