Hong Kong marked a special milestone as the beloved giant panda twins reached their 100th day of life on Saturday. These charming cubs, born to Ying Ying— a giant panda gifted by China's central government to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR)—have quickly become stars at Ocean Park Hong Kong.
To celebrate, Ocean Park hosted a vibrant event filled with joy and panda-themed festivities. Visitors adorned in panda costumes gathered outside the park, embracing Hong Kong customs by sharing red eggs and pork knuckle ginger stew, symbolizing the happiness that comes with a new arrival.
The park was transformed with colorful banners and numerous cartoon images of the panda twins, creating a festive atmosphere. Le Le, the father of the twins, made another heartwarming appearance, delighting fans of the beloved family.
In a first for Ocean Park, a live-streaming session was launched to give fans real-time access to the twins' antics. The female cub made her debut on the stream, playfully stretching and lounging on a bed. Shortly after, the male cub joined, and the two interacted lovingly, moving and snuggling together, much to the delight of the watching crowd.
This celebration not only highlights the growing bond between the panda family and Hong Kong residents but also underscores Ocean Park’s commitment to providing engaging and heartwarming experiences for visitors from around the world.
