Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Brazil's capital, Brasilia, on Tuesday for a state visit. Upon arrival, Xi was welcomed by senior Brazilian officials, including Rui Costa, chief of staff of the Presidency of Brazil, and Justice Minister Ricardo Lewandowski.
He was also greeted by artists performing traditional Brazilian drum music, highlighting the cultural exchange between the two nations.
Xi's entourage included Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Wang Yi, Foreign Minister and member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
During Xi's journey from the airport to his hotel, representatives of the local Chinese community, Chinese enterprises, and Chinese students gathered along the roadside, waving the national flags of China and Brazil. They also held red banners with messages welcoming Xi and celebrating China-Brazil relations.
Xi arrived in BrasĂlia after departing Rio de Janeiro, where he had attended the 19th G20 Summit. The state visit underscores the ongoing partnership and cooperation between China and Brazil on various economic and political fronts.
