China is deepening its solidarity and cooperation with Latin American nations, aiming to bring greater fulfillment and prosperity to communities on both sides, according to a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Highlighting the success of Peruvian alpaca toys, known as \"warmpaca,\" Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian shared that these crafts have become a popular item at this year's China International Import Expo (CIIE). Oswaldo Mamani, a Peruvian craftsman, transformed his small one-story workshop with just over 100 annual sales into a thriving three-story facility employing hundreds, thanks to support from China.
Mamani expressed gratitude, stating that China has been a blessing for him and his village, enabling them to increase their income and improve their quality of life.
Lin emphasized that China and Latin America have consistently focused on major livelihood projects. He cited the Belo Monte UHV transmission project in Brazil, which has established an \"electricity expressway\" connecting northern and southern regions, providing reliable power to industrial hubs and alleviating power shortages for over 22 million Brazilians.
Additionally, China has undertaken various small and impactful projects in Latin America, such as water supply initiatives in Costa Rica's two cities, benefiting both the local population and the economy.
Lin concluded by reaffirming China's commitment to sincerity, tangible results, affinity, and good faith in its relations with Latin America. He stressed that focusing on people's livelihoods remains a priority, with ongoing efforts to enhance solidarity and cooperation that deliver greater happiness and fulfillment to both Chinese and Latin American communities.
