Chinese Premier and Indonesian President Forge Stronger Ties in Beijing

Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met in Beijing on Saturday, marking a significant step forward in the bilateral relations between the two nations.

Premier Li emphasized that through joint efforts, China-Indonesia relations have steadily improved and entered a new stage of building a community with a shared future. He highlighted China\'s commitment to being a good neighbor and partner to Indonesia by deepening political trust, expanding practical cooperation, and carrying forward their traditional friendship.

The discussions focused on strengthening the synergy of their development strategies, expanding bilateral trade and investment, and exploring cooperation opportunities in green minerals, photovoltaic wind power, the digital economy, marine scientific research, and environmental protection. Premier Li stated that these initiatives will provide solid support for both countries as they pursue modernization and contribute to regional and global stability.

Premier Li also expressed China\'s willingness to enhance communication and coordination with Indonesia on multilateral platforms like the United Nations, advocating for true multilateralism, safeguarding international equity and justice, and protecting the common interests of developing countries.

President Prabowo affirmed Indonesia\'s firm adherence to the one-China principle, viewing issues related to Xinjiang as China\'s internal affairs, and supporting China\'s efforts to safeguard national sovereignty. He expressed Indonesia\'s eagerness to use the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to intensify exchanges with China, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and strengthen key projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of deepening exchanges in education and tourism.

President Prabowo also conveyed Indonesia\'s appreciation for China\'s role in safeguarding international equity and justice, promoting the development of the Global South, and protecting the interests of developing countries. He looks forward to continuing to strengthen communication and cooperation with China on international and regional affairs.
