Three Chinese Snooker Stars Advance to WST International Championship Semifinals

In a spectacular display of skill and determination, three Chinese snooker players—Ding Junhui, Xu Si, and Xiao Guodong—secured their spots in the semifinals of the World Snooker Tour (WST) International Championship held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.

Ding Junhui delivered a standout performance by defeating the reigning World Champion Kyren Wilson of England with a score of 6-4 in the quarterfinals. Ding established an early lead with impressive breaks of 57, 72, and 84, pushing Wilson to respond with breaks of his own—57, 70, and 80—to level the match at 4-4. Demonstrating exceptional composure, Ding clinched the victory by executing two century breaks of 129 and 123 in the final frames.

Reflecting on his triumph, Ding shared, \"I could really feel the support from the crowd – they wanted to see me perform well and get a good result. Kyren is world champion and one of the most consistent top players at the moment, so this wasn't an easy win. If I hadn't played as well as I did today, it would have been tough to beat him.\"

Alongside Ding, Xu Si and Xiao Guodong also overcame their opponents, showcasing the depth of talent in Chinese snooker. Their advancement to the semifinals not only highlights their individual prowess but also underscores the growing prominence of China in the global snooker arena.

The WST International Championship has been a pivotal event for emerging snooker talents, and the presence of three Chinese players in the semifinals is a testament to the country's investment and passion for the sport. As the tournament progresses, fans around the world eagerly anticipate the thrilling matchups that lie ahead.
