WEF Operations Chief Highlights Sustainability and Diversity Focus at 2024 Davos Forum

The 2024 Davos Forum, organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF), placed a strong emphasis on sustainability and diversity, according to Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at WEF.

Podolak shared in an interview with CGTN's Global Business that the event prioritized eco-friendly practices by adopting the principles of \"reduce, reuse, and recycle.\" One notable initiative was the subsidization of participants who chose to travel using public transportation, aiming to minimize the event's carbon footprint.

In addition to environmental efforts, the 2024 Davos Forum sought to ensure diverse representation across various dimensions. Podolak highlighted the inclusion of participants from different regions, industries, and with varied perspectives, fostering a richer and more comprehensive dialogue on global issues.

These measures reflect WEF's ongoing commitment to creating events that not only address pressing global challenges but also promote inclusivity and sustainable practices.
