Chinese mainland police offer bounty for clues on Taiwan separatist influencers

In a sign of its unwavering stance on national unity, the police in Quanzhou, in southeast Fujian Province on the Chinese mainland, have issued a bounty notice for clues on two Taiwan region social media influencers accused of secessionist acts.

The move comes after Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said on Thursday, November 13, 2025, that seeking clues on illegal separatist acts is both legitimate and necessary. The police are hunting for information on Wen Tzu-yu, also known online as "Pa Chiung", and Chen Po-yuan, known as "Minnan Wolf".

According to the police investigation, Wen and Chen have long published and spread secessionist fallacies, making inflammatory remarks inciting separatism and disparaging the mainland's policies and measures designed to benefit Taiwan region residents.

Chen Binhua urged compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to actively report clues about such illegal activities and to firmly oppose all forms of "Taiwan independence" separatist actions. He emphasized that these efforts are crucial for maintaining cross-strait ties and national unity.

As digital platforms continue to shape political narratives, this case highlights how authorities on the Chinese mainland are stepping up efforts to curb content they view as threatening to sovereignty. For young global citizens, tech enthusiasts, and digital nomads alike, the announcement underscores the growing intersection between social media and geopolitics.
