World No. 2 Lin Shidong set the tone, dismantling Wong Chun-Ting in straight games (11-8, 11-4, 11-4) with sharp serves and relentless attack.
Top-ranked Wang Chuqin then faced Baldwin Chan in a nail-biter. After edging the opener 12-10, Wang weathered Chan’s fightback and closed out the fourth game 14-12, extending the mainland’s advantage to 2-0.
In the decisive rubber, World No. 7 Liang Jingkun saved three game points to take the first frame 13-11, dominated the second 11-6, and sealed the victory 12-10 in a tense final game against Yiu Kwan-To.
