Chinese Mainland Calls for Stability in Thailand After PM Ouster

In a recent statement, a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Chinese mainland expressed hopes that Thailand will maintain stability and continue to prosper, following the Constitutional Court's decision to remove Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra for violating constitutional provisions.

The Thai Constitutional Court ruled on Friday that Paetongtarn's actions breached key articles of the charter, prompting her immediate ouster. While this legal move marks a significant shift in Thailand's political landscape, the spokesperson stressed that it respects Thailand's internal processes.

'This is Thailand's domestic affair,' the spokesperson said on Saturday. 'As Thailand's close and friendly neighbor, we hope the country will maintain stability and continue to prosper.'

As a major player in ASEAN, Thailand's stability is a key factor for regional trade, tourism, and economic partnerships. Markets and policymakers will now keep a close eye on the country's next steps.
