A container truck collided with a tractor in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh early on Monday, killing eight people and injuring 43 others, police said.
Among the victims were two women and a child, according to Bulandshahr district police chief Dinesh Kumar Singh. "Three people are in serious condition and on ventilators," Singh said.
The crash highlights the risks faced by rural road users and the need for caution when heavy vehicles share routes with agricultural machinery.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the collision.
