Chengdu on the Chinese mainland officially welcomed its Athletes' Village for the 2025 World Games on Saturday, rolling out the red carpet for around 7,000 participants who will arrive between August 3 and 18.
Nicknamed "Chengdu Home," the village promises more than just comfortable lodging. At the opening ceremony held at the Tianfu International Hotel, over 200 officials from the International World Games Association, athletes, staff members, and volunteers gathered to celebrate the milestone.
"The quality of the accommodation is just amazing," said Guillaume Felli, Deputy CEO of the IWGA. "I'm sure the athletes will have great accommodations to really perform at their best during the Games."
As the countdown begins, this new hub in Chengdu sets the stage for an exciting festival of sport and global camaraderie.
