Chelsea into Club World Cup Final After Pedro’s Brace

In New Jersey, Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over Fluminense to book their place in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Joao Pedro marked his first start in spectacular fashion. Signed last week from Brighton for 60 million pounds, the 23-year-old forward opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a curling strike from outside the box, paying tribute to his boyhood club.

Moments before halftime, Marc Cucurella produced a crucial goal-line clearance following a clever run by Jhon Arias, helping Chelsea maintain a 1-0 lead at the break.

Eleven minutes after the restart, Pedro claimed his second. After receiving a precise ball from Enzo Fernández, he drove into the box and unleashed a ferocious shot that ricocheted off the underside of the crossbar into Fabio’s net.

With the 2-0 win sealed, Chelsea now await Real Madrid or PSG in the final on Sunday, where they will chase their first Club World Cup crown.
