China Unveils Star-Studded Lineup for 2025 World Aquatics Championships

Making Waves in Singapore

From July 11 to August 3, Singapore will host the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, and Team China is making waves with a powerhouse lineup across five disciplines.

Splashes & Records: Swimming Squad

The 34-strong swimming squad is led by 2024 Paris Olympic champion Pan Zhanle, fresh off a world record and gold at the Doha Worlds. At just 20, Pan eyes gold in the 100m freestyle, where he's already broken global bests three times in six months. Veteran Wang Shun, 31, will chase his eighth Worlds medal, blending experience with fresh ambition.

The Dive "Dream Team"

China's diving "Dream Team" fields 14 athletes across 13 events, headlined by Olympic gold medalists Chen Yuxi, Chen Yiwen, Cao Yuan and Wang Zongyuan. Two-time champion Quan Hongchan and Paris gold medalist Chang Yani will sit the event out due to injury, opening the door for rising stars Zhang Minjie and Chen Jia, fresh off standout performances at the Diving World Cup.

Artistic Swimming: New Waves

Eyes will be on 13 artistic swimmers aiming to replicate their success after China's historic double gold in team and duet at Paris 2024. While champions Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi step back, twins Lin Yanhan and Lin Yanjun have earned their spots alongside Paris Olympians Feng Yu, Chang Hao, Xiang Binxuan and Cheng Wentao. Male swimmer Guo Muye also joins a squad that dominated the recent World Cup Super Final with 11 medals.

Open Water & Water Polo Teams Set Sail

China's open water squad sends six swimmers into seven events, ready to navigate Singapore's coastal courses. In the pool and beyond, both women's and men's water polo teams – 15 athletes each – are primed to make their mark in fast-paced matches kicking off on day one.

Beyond the Podium

This blend of seasoned champions and emerging talents underscores China's depth in aquatics and highlights a new generation ready to challenge records. For young fans, coaches and digital nomads alike, the championships offer a global stage to celebrate athletic excellence and cultural exchange.
