Beijing Guoan Stays Undefeated, Tops CSL After 1-0 Win Over Qingdao

At a sold-out Workers Stadium, Beijing Guoan extended their unbeaten run in the Chinese Super League to six matches with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Qingdao West Coast. The victory propelled Guoan to the top of the standings on goal difference, edging out Shanghai Shenhua as the title race heats up.

The match's lone goal arrived in the 24th minute when Michael Ngadeu powered a header from a corner kick. The ball ricocheted off the post and found its way into the net after brushing off West Coast goalkeeper Li Hao. The moment sent Beijing fans into a roar and showcased Guoan's set-piece strengths.

Qingdao West Coast threatened early, with Nelson da Luz sprinting through in the 19th minute only to be denied by a brilliant save from Beijing keeper Hou Sen. As the first half wound down, Ngadeu's long-range strike and a follow-up attempt by Sai Erjiniao tested Li once more, but the visitors held firm.

Defensively solid and clinically effective, Beijing Guoan defended their slim lead throughout the second half. Their clean sheet and precise attacking play underline why they're clear contenders this season, especially in a tight table where goal difference matters.

Meanwhile, Qingdao West Coast remains eighth with just four wins from 14 matches and will be determined to end their four-game winless streak in upcoming fixtures.
