China Claims Record 14th Sudirman Cup with 3-1 Win Over South Korea

In a nail-biting final at the Xiamen Sports Centre on Sunday, China emerged victorious over South Korea 3-1 to claim a record-extending 14th Sudirman Cup title. The win also marks China's fourth straight triumph in badminton's top mixed team competition.

The showdown began with mixed doubles action, as Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping faced off against Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yu-jung. After taking the first game 21-16, the Chinese duo saw the ROK pair bounce back 21-17 in game two. In the decider, Feng and Huang seized control, winning 21-15 and giving China the early edge.

Next up, world No.1 An Se-young of South Korea delivered a strong performance in women's singles, defeating China's Wang Zhiyi 21-17, 21-16 to level the scoreboard.

Shi Yuqi then turned the tide in men's singles, cruising past Jeon Hyeok-jin with a commanding 21-5, 21-5 victory and putting the host nation ahead.

The decisive moment arrived in the women's doubles, where Olympic silver medalists Tan Ning and Liu Shengshu sealed the title by beating Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee 21-14, 21-17.

With this triumph, China extends its lead in the Sudirman Cup era, notching a fourth consecutive title and reaffirming its status at the pinnacle of international badminton. Young fans and seasoned pros alike celebrated as the confetti fell in Xiamen, signaling a new chapter for the sport's next generation.
