Zverev Advances to French Open Semifinals for Fourth Consecutive Year

Alexander Zverev of Germany secured his spot in the French Open men's singles semifinals for the fourth straight time at Roland Garros in Paris. Zverev triumphed over Australia’s Alex de Minaur with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-4 in a compelling quarterfinal match on Wednesday.

With this victory, Zverev has now achieved 11 straight wins at the tournament, marking his best performance here to date. His deepest run at a Grand Slam event came in 2020 when he reached the final of the U.S. Open, only to be defeated by Austria’s Dominic Thiem.

\"I'm happy to be in another semifinal,\" Zverev commented after his win. \"Hopefully, I can win one.\"

On the other side, de Minaur reflected on his performance, saying, \"Had my chances. Probably should have taken that second set. I left my heart out there. Did everything I could.\"

In the upcoming semifinals, Zverev will face Norway’s Casper Ruud, who advanced after reigning champion Novak Djokovic withdrew due to injury. Ruud has been a strong contender, having been the tournament's runner-up in both 2022 and 2023.
