China and Japan are paving the way for a greener future through enhanced collaboration in energy conservation and environmental protection. On Saturday, both nations announced their commitment to deepen cooperation in these critical industries during the 17th China-Japan Comprehensive Forum on Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection held in Tokyo.
The forum, a longstanding platform for international cooperation since 2006, brings together over 800 participants from both countries. This year, discussions focused on accelerating green, low-carbon development and strengthening environmental governance. Zhao Chenxin, vice-chairman of China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), highlighted China's active role in promoting ecological civilization and its ongoing efforts to advance green technologies.
Throughout the event, attendees engaged in five sub-forums and signed 27 cooperation agreements, contributing to a total of 457 projects aimed at fostering sustainable development between the two nations. Both China and Japan emphasized the importance of jointly advancing both global and regional green initiatives, reflecting their shared dedication to environmental stewardship.
This robust partnership underscores the critical role that China and Japan play in shaping a sustainable future, setting an example for other G20 nations and the world.
