Ancelotti Keeps Mbappe’s UEFA Super Cup Role Under Wraps

Real Madrid’s new star Kylian Mbappe could make his highly anticipated debut in the upcoming UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on Wednesday. However, coach Carlo Ancelotti remains tight-lipped about whether the French forward will start the crucial match.

Mbappe, 25, joined Real Madrid last week after a five-year stint that concluded with a free-agent signing in June. His arrival in the Spanish capital marks the end of a much-discussed transfer saga, and he has already begun training with the team.

In a recent press conference, Ancelotti praised Mbappe’s adaptation to the team, stating, \"Mbappe has arrived well, just like the other players who joined last week. We haven't had much time to train, but we are doing very well, and Kylian has also arrived in good shape. He is adapting very well. Obviously everyone who is here can play tomorrow.\"

Despite the anticipation, Ancelotti has not confirmed whether Mbappe will feature in the starting lineup. He emphasized the team’s depth, mentioning other capable players like Bellingham and Valverde who are also strong candidates for penalty-taking duties.

Real Madrid, boasting five Super Cup titles, faces a formidable opponent in Atalanta, especially with the Italian side dealing with injuries to key players like Gianluca Scamacca and Teun Koopmeiners. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini remains optimistic, believing his team can defy expectations.

This match not only offers Real Madrid a chance to secure a sixth Super Cup but also sets the stage for an exciting season ahead, with multiple titles up for grabs thanks to FIFA’s new Intercontinental Cup.
