Mbappé Shines in La Liga Debut as Real Madrid Secures 1-1 Draw

Kylian Mbappé made his highly anticipated La Liga debut for Real Madrid on Sunday, contributing to an engaging 1-1 draw against Mallorca. Despite his impressive performance in the UEFA Super Cup earlier in the week, Mbappé couldn't find the back of the net in his first Spanish league game.

Starting alongside Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior, Mbappé showcased his versatility by alternating between central and flank positions. Real Madrid took an early lead with Rodrygo's goal just 13 minutes into the match, but Mallorca equalized in the 53rd minute through Vedat Muriqi.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti highlighted the team's attacking prowess while emphasizing the need for better defensive balance. "We got off to a good start, taking the lead, and then had a chance to get the second goal," Ancelotti remarked. "We didn't find the balance in the second half. We need to defend better."

The match also saw Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy receive a red card for a hard foul on Muriqi during second-half stoppage time. Ancelotti acknowledged the setback, stating, "We just need to do better and with a better attitude. We can learn a lot from this match."

Among the spectators was tennis legend Rafael Nadal, a native of the island of Mallorca, who watched the game at Son Moix Stadium. The Mallorca players honored Real Madrid by lining up to applaud as they entered the field before kickoff.
